2017 Ford Edge For Sale In Camrose
The 2017 Ford Edge is the third model year of the second-generation of this extremely attractive and successful midsize crossover. The Edge is one of the latest Ford models to go truly global after only originally being available in the United States, where it was first launched in 2006 as a 2007 model year. Now the Edge has followed in the footsteps of the legendary Mustang by being offered officially by Blue Oval dealers all over the world, even in markets where they drive on the wrong side of the road.
The manufacturer claimed the Edge became more athletic than before when it was completely redesigned for the 2015 model year, and whether you're considering its styling or its performance, it's certainly not an exaggeration. The 2017 Ford Edge has the undoubted silhouette of an SUV, but the current design pushes the Ford increasingly closer to what can only be described as a more premium look that avoids being overtly rugged or macho. The Edge has a fantastically sporty exterior that wouldn't be out of place on a model from one of its German rival manufacturers, while the Edge Sport with its blacked-out details takes that look even further.
The good news just keeps on coming for the 2017 Ford Edge when it comes to the inside with some of the best trims and materials to be found anywhere in its class, and a dash that steals some of the best styling cues from Ford’s other models such as the Focus and the Escape
There are three different engines across four trims with the 2017 Ford Edge. The four trims start off with the SE and then go to the SEL and Titanium before finishing with the stunning Edge Sport. The standard engine in the SE, SEL and Titanium trims is a 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbo unit producing 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, which comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that features in all versions of the Edge. The optional engine when it comes to the SEL and Titanium trims is a normally aspirated 3.5-litre Ti-VCT V-6 that puts 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque at your disposal. Last but certainly not least, the most powerful engine offered in the Edge lineup is only in the Edge Sport and it's a 2.7-litre EcoBoost that puts out a very impressive 315 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque.
Recent improvements to the engines, such as a new twin-scroll turbocharger and a redesigned cylinder head in the 2.0-litre EcoBoost, help to deliver the kind of fuel economy that was typical of smaller, less versatile midsize sedans just a few years ago. In its front-wheel drive form, the 2.0-litre unit delivers fuel economy ratings of 11.3 L/100 km in the city and 7.9 L/100 km on the highway, or 11.5 L/100 km in the city and 7.8 L/100 km on the highway with the versions without the auto stop/start feature.
There's a good degree of competition in the midsize crossover segment, but few if any check all the boxes quite as well as the 2017 Ford Edge does.
