2017 Ford Escape For Sale In Camrose
Unless it’s a case of money being no object to prospective buyers, crossovers and SUVs usually go one of two ways; luxurious or sporty. As far as the 2017 Ford Escape compact crossover is concerned, it's definitely a case of the latter, although there's a fair bit of refinement as well. If you like a sporty flourish to spice up your family crossover, the Escape is definitely one to beat in its segment. The Escape was launched back in 2000 as a 2001 model year and the current model is part what is now its third-generation, which launched here as a 2013 model and now gets a mid-cycle refresh for 2017.
The 2017 Ford Escape isn't a huge departure from its predecessor, but its mild mid-cycle update really has made what was already an extremely attractive and enticing proposition even more so. As well as the refreshed styling, especially at the front, other updates include a number of new tech features and a pair of new turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder engines. The corporate face the company began to pioneer with the 2013 version of the Fusion sedan has now been transferred to the Escape, which gives the Ford a cleaner, crisper, and even more modern appearance than it had before.
The two new engines finding their way into the 2017 Ford Escape are a 1.5-liter to replace the existing 1.6, and a new version of the 2.0-liter inline-4. The one engine remaining from last year is the standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that puts out 168 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. It's front-wheel drive only and comes mated to the same six-speed automatic transmission found throughout the range. The first of the new engines is the 1.5-liter EcoBoost I-4, and this one puts 179 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque at your disposal with a choice of front or all-wheel drive. Last but by no means least, is the new 2.0-liter I-4 EcoBoost, developing an impressive 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque.
As is the way of things with the Blue Oval these days, the 2017 Ford escape keeps things nice and tidy with just three well-equipped trim levels of S, SE and Titanium. The S comes standard with a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat and 4-way front passenger seat, air conditioning, six-speaker CD/radio system, the Sync infotainment system, a 4.2-inch center screen, rear-view camera, cruise control, power locks and windows, remote keyless entry and more.
In addition, the SE trim gets you the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, shift paddles, dual-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, a 10-way power driver's seat, keypad entry on the door frame, rear privacy glass, fog lamps, and alloy wheels.
Finally, stepping up to the top-level Platinum trim really does push the boat out with upscale features such as a 12-speaker 390-watt Sony audio system, HD radio, rear park assist, the Sync 3 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and plenty more besides.
